Mission REACH (Relevance and Excellence in ACHieving new heights in educational institutions) was launched by TIFAC on October 4, 2000 by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the then Chairman, TIFAC and Principal Scientific Adviser to the Govt. of India. Mission aims to develop human resources of international standards by imparting high quality education in chosen areas of high relevance to industry and society. This is to be done by forging triangular linkages between academia, industry and government (TIFAC) and establish aptly christened Centers of Relevance & Excellence (CORE) by upgrading the infrastructure in S&T academic institution. So far 31 COREs have been set up in institutions spread across the country.
